Author Guidelines
The AJDP operates through clearly established guidelines to the authors providing structural organization of the article for publication. The title of the article should be on the title page and be made as concise as possible. The name of the author should come immediately below the title, followed by the authors’ affiliated institutions and e-mail addresses. The abstract should be indented with a length between 150–250 words and keywords should not exceed five. The length of one journal article should be between 6,000–8,000 words. Shorter contributions and book reviews should be a maximum of 4,000 words. Tables and figures should be captioned and numbered on top (tables) or at the bottom (figures).

Language and Formatting
The preferred language is English (British) presented in Microsoft Word Format. Authors are advised to engage language editors to go through the manuscript before the first submission. The main text should be single-spaced with one line space between paragraphs. All texts should be in Arial, font size 12, justified except the title. Page numbers should be centred at the bottom of the page. The journal prefers a maximum of three level subheadings in flush left. First-level subheadings should be in bold and numbered (Arabic numerals), second-level subheadings should be numbered and bolded, while third-level subheadings should be numbered, italicized but not bolded.

Citation and Referencing
Under the AJDP all types of citations should be applied. However, footnotes and endnotes should be kept minimum in favour of the in-text citation. Therefore, in-text citations of the published work with authors should be cited as follows:
Kahimba (2019) or (Kahimba, 2019) or (Matunga, 2007: 123; Assenga and Katabaro, 1999: 23; Lufunyo, 1997: 45), (Edson et al., 1997: 53). Interview: If identity is not disclosed (Interview, 20.11.2024) or if identity is disclosed (Joseph, Interview, 20.11.2024). Newspapers: Daily News, 20.11.2024).
The style of article referencing accepted for publication in the proposed journal should be American Psychological Association (APA) for referencing books, edited books, chapters in edited books, journal articles, dissertations, newspapers, official publications, unpublished sources, website references and interviews as presented below.

Editorial Policies
Frequency of Publication
Taking into consideration all review processes and quality assurance standards; the frequency of publication of AJDP is biannual in June and December in every calendar year. Occasionally, the proposed journal will accept the publication of special issues and guest-edited issues to give attention to specific events and activities of great interest in the world of research and scholarship.
Accessibility of the Journal
AJDP is an open-access journal, the open-access publishing model enhancing the visibility and accessibility of published research and the university in general.
Copyright Policy
Authors will be notified of acceptance of the submitted manuscripts for them to sign and return a contributor agreement form, which addresses license and copyright issues. Journal ownership remains with the University of Dodoma, while authors are allowed to keep the copyright of the article by retaining a Creative Commons CC BY user license.
Authorship and Contributors
The corresponding author must ensure that authorship and contributors including the ordering are agreed upon by contributors before submission. The corresponding author should ensure that only persons who significantly contributed to the paper's authorship are included. Persons who contributed to the research but did not participate in authoring a paper may be listed in the acknowledgments section. A person whose name has been included as one of the authors without his/her consent may petition the Chief Editor. The corresponding author must add all the contributors, affiliation, ORCID, and their valid email addresses during submission. AJDP will ensure that listed contributors are notified about every stage of the editorial process.
Ethical Issues
The AJDP strives to adhere to its Best Practice Guidelines and Code of Conduct for managing academic journals. First, the University of Dodoma's publication policy will apply including a plagiarism check to ensure that published materials are innovative and original. Every reasonable effort will be made to investigate any allegations of plagiarism brought to their attention, as well as instances that come up during the peer review process. The AJDP strictly prohibits authors from submitting the same manuscript under review by the AJDP to other journals for publication consideration without prior communication with the Chief Editor for withdrawal. Submission of articles is be online and there is no publication charges/fees. AJDP retains the right to remove any published content from its website if it establishes contributor violation of research/publication ethics or in the circumstances of receiving the order from the Courts of law.
Declaration of conflict of interests
Authors, editors and reviewers are responsible for disclosing any conflict of interest they might have concerning a particular manuscript. AJDP subscribes to COPE's definition of conflict of interest, stating that: “Conflicts of interest arise when authors, reviewers, or editors have interests that are not fully apparent and that may influence their judgments on what is published.” The author who fails to disclose his/her conflict of interests will be deemed to have violated the Journal’s publication policies.
Complaint handling
The Chief Editor handles all complaints on publication processes and is responsible for providing timely feedback about the complaints raised. Complaints regarding author's research misconduct i.e. violation of research or publication ethics, will be referred to the Editorial Board. If the Editor engages in research misconducts, the author(s) should submit their complaint(s) direct to the Director of Research, Publications and Consultancy of the University of Dodoma (Email: drpc@udom.ac.tz). The Director will investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
